Volume 2: 400 photos of furniture and home accents by Leoque Philippines

Last weekend, off to Digiprint we went again for print order of 400 copyrighted photos. This is our second batch of prints lazily & un-creatively dubbed VOLUME 2.

{Check the House of Leoque – Photo collection Volume 1. We even ordered a photobook for that.}

Print of 4R is P5.50 each (said to be on promo, thus our Digiprint Pro Card is semi useless). LBC Express does the delivery of the prints usually the next day, you’ll get it.

We’ll upload the 400 photos to a photo-sharing (flickr or photobucket or even multiply again) site soon for one album browsing. All the photos are scattered throughout this site. If you happen to frequent our site (we hope you do please), you’ve seen some already. Out of these 400, we’ll select 100 pics again from this batch then order our second photobook titled, you guessed it, VOLUME 2.

Meanwhile… in the hall of office, we slipped the 4-R copyrighted photos inside 4-albums. If you happen to be in the shop, please ask for it and *feel free* to browse the volume 2.

*This is the last time I will use “FEEL FREE” in a sentence, as in “feel free to inquire”, “feel free to look around”, “feel free to call us”. Promise. This “feel free” combo is old. My old company has that in their proposal-quotation letters. Even Leonardo Da Vinci, my idol, used that in his presentation on December 20 1508 in front of some scholars. He said, and I quote… “sentirsi libero a copia mio invenzione.” He really said that.*

Hardheaded Bulol

stick-bulol-hard-heads stick-bulol-hard-heads (2) stick-bulol-hard-heads (3)

The heads of the STICKY BULOL. Said to be made from Madre Cacao wood (?). Pretty dense wood it is, it seems to be harder than ordinary Philippine (excluding the real hardwoods). So I figure, “hard headed bulol” is a nice title.

Ladies and gentlemen, there goes our occassional filler-photos post. Thank you.

Petronas twin towers coasters

petronas-twin-towers-malaysia-coasters petronas-twin-towers-malaysia-coasters (2)

A friend of ours recently visited Malaysia and he gave this souvenir to us. And we all know, the Petronas Twin Towers are must-see while in there And so he swung by the area to check the towers and at the same time bring home a pasalubong. Since it’s impossible to bring the Petronas towers back home, this Petronas souvenir coaster will do.

I believe the glass used for this coaster set is from the building itself, floor number 88, room facing south, glass window panel to the right. They replaced the glass for that particular section and their turned the old glass to these coasters. True story.

This coaster is 4-piece set, some kind of a frosted glass with non-slip rubber base. A collector’s item.

Finally, a Not-For-Sale post here at site.

BTW, we have lots of coasters if you are need. Check this TAG, or go shop coasters HERE.

Naturally yours, the brown barely varnished ladder table

natural-wood-brown-lean-in-computer-table natural-wood-brown-lean-in-computer-table (1)

We normally do this ladder shelves in black or at the most least, wenge-brown. But last month, we sold 3 units of the natural color brown and so there we have it. The brown version is included in the running models now. Thick wood for laptop/computer and study/office, a tropical-Filipino look for modern uses.

The nice thing about this version is you can fully see and appreciate the wood grains. Natural finish does not hide the beauty of bold solid wood. The brown adds warmth and relaxes the look of your work/study table. So think about this, when you’re dead tired with your work load or your homework, stop for a while, sip a cup coffee and just look at your prized table. Coffee sold separately.

Naturally yours,

During the holidays, some time fun with google_sketch and we got this 11 cute little designs that came about via…

  • Inspired by others’ work (max of 20% if you want to talk percentage)
  • Some originals by me and I dreamt of it last month
  • Because we have scrap/excess materials (wood/mirror/metal) and we must find ways to use ‘em
  • Design that came about coz there is a need to it, and that there’s no other way of doing it (like the CD rack, that’s just how CD rack goes)

SERIOUS-er designs/drawings, we’d rather not post (you know why).

The Tropical House: Cutting edge design in the Philippines – Tropical Contemporary

the-tropical-house-cutting-edge-design-in-the-philippines-tropical-contemporary

We bought this book (The Tropical House: Cutting edge design in the Philippines – Tropical Contemporary) before Christmas. Fully-packed with the awesomest contemporary tropical interior designs.

Amazing! We bought our copy from National Bookstore, and the price is P1950.00. Checking it Amazon, it’s only 26.37 USD. I should have ordered our copy from Amazon.com instead. Just consolidate the purchase with some other stuff we bought online last Dec. from Amazon too. Damn, a fella who recommends online shopping, why the hell I didn’t look it up at Amazon. Heniweyz…

The book is million times recommended. For pros or amateurs, doesn’t matter. Get a copy here (National Bookstore) or here (Amazon). Authored by Elizabeth Reyes, Photography by Luca Invernizzi Tettoni.

I’m telling you, this tropical interior is one good choice. I’m recommending it to people I know who are renovating/building their homes (exactly 2 of them). The minimalist design and this new contemporary home style are top two in my book, so to speak.

Sample pages below, featuring houses of some of Philippines’ sophisticated elite people. A bonus for us, the photography is great, kinda inspires us to shoot our products a la Tettoni! (As homage to Senor Luca, I, Leonardo Que Corleone, shot the book on top of a raffia-abaca combo. Now that’s tropical!) The featured architectural design, the interior, the showcased style, the photos, the furniture and decors, the book is an inspiration.

Description…
The Tropical House celebrates a growing trend toward stylish globalization in interior design. More than 25 stunning houses and condos in and around Manila, the Philippines, are showcased, each evoking a distinctive tropical-modern fusion style that is gaining popularity around the world. All these fine residences comprise a synthesis of East-West trends and contemporary furnishings—as international sleek modernist furniture merges with “soulful creations” by local designers in natural hardwoods and other tropical materials.

Over 250 full-color photographs of outstanding Filipino residences will inspire readers with their diverse, contemporary designs. From vintage glamour to classic modern with bold artful accents and the clean, sophisticated look known as “contemporary chic,” this book showcases the myriad tastes of the Philippines. The selection covers modern designs referred to as Minimalist or Zen and admires today’s Global Eclectics, those well-traveled collectors of beautiful objects from East and West. Furthermore, it celebrates the individualists who mix European furniture with acutely creative accents from local designers or who frame edgy artworks by Filipino artists with clean, contemporary architecture. Such are the globalized interiors of today’s tropical Asia.

Since you’re already here reading this, why not browse some more and get some tropical stuff for your home as well.

Wind chime, No dime

wood-chime-photo-redux wood-chime-photo-redux (2)

Why we were not able to sell 1 million units of this native wind chime? The answer my friend is not blowing in the wind.

The answers are… (1) I erroneously linked the ethnic wood chime to the handcarved horse — now edited. (2) the initial photo of the exotic chime is subpar. (4) With specs like “wooden wood chime”, no one will buy that! — now edited. (4) It’s not on display at our pick up location. Things will change tomorrow. I’ll be expecting a purchase order of 10000 units from Walmart tomorrow.

Meet Tiger, Kobe, Jackie and Lisa

tiger kobe jackie and leslie

tiger kobe jackie and leslie

An relatively old figurine set in our home, maybe 7 yrs old now. Featuring little black kiddo athletes. The names: Tiger, Kobe, Jackie and Leslie.

The set has its own share of “injuries” and breakages. In fact, I’ll never throw, give or sell this set away because I invested a lot of cash and time into this. I believe, I already consumed 20 tubes of Mightybond (or Bulldog glue?) just to make the pieces play stand again. :-)

Nudes (Mega Square) by Grange Books

nudes-grange-books

Another book inside Leoque. A mega square book, title is “Nudes.” And there’s no denying the title. Over 250 pages of tasteful nakedness & nudity of different mediums and art forms (sculpture and painting). These books we got serve triple-purpose. First we leoque look at these books and somehow make push us and inspire us to be more creative and imaginative with both design and photography. And second use is, we use the books as props when shooting storage furniture, side tables, coffee table, bookshelves, etc. Third, we collect/buy these art & trade books to beef up our soon-to-be-made home or office library.

Some sample pages below…
