Thou Shall Not Steal Leoque’s Photos

Just a warning…

Some misguided fellas used House of Leoque photos without our permission. That’s basically equal to stealing.

Worse is, one blatantly removed “LEOQUE” watermark and put on their own name/text.

Next time stealing of photos happens, we will not be as kind as today. We will name names & we will do corresponding actions.

God bless us all.

Coffee Table Book: Molesworth, The Pioneer of Western Design

molesworth-native-furniture-coffee-book molesworth-native-furniture-coffee-book-1 molesworth-native-furniture-coffee-book-2 molesworth-native-furniture-coffee-book-3 molesworth-native-furniture-coffee-book-4 molesworth-native-furniture-coffee-book-5 molesworth-native-furniture-coffee-book-6

We got this “Molesworth: Pioneer of Western Design” book from a local Philippine bookstore (i forgot the name, the one at Waltermart Pasong Tamo cor Pasay Road Makati), on sale. Orig price was P1300.

We got it at around P600.

We bought this because we just wanted to have extra coffee table book while shooting some of the coffee tables we sell. It being a furniture coffe table book slash collector’s item is just a bonus.

I browsed the net for more info about the book… turns out, this guy Molesworth is some kind of a furniture legend. And he really is. The book is great. Furniture lovers would really enjoy looking at his native american design and the clear crisp photographs.

If you’re at House of Leoque, you may want to check this out and perhaps draw inspiration from Molesworth furniture pieces.

Info picked up from Amazon

Product Description
Thomas Molesworth, were he alive today, would be both proud and amazed at the influence his Shoshone Furniture Company and the Cody artists’ colony he inspired would have on his old hometown and the Western Design movement seventy-two years after he started producing furniture. Based on nearly two decades of buying, selling, pursuing, and researching Molesworth furniture, Terry Winchell has created a definitive book that covers all spectrums of Molesworth’s work, including the influence of the other artists who made his style unique, as well as stylistically and financially successful. The fact that Molesworth’s furniture career spanned thirty plus years speaks for itself. An excellent guide for collectors of Molesworth’s work, this book is also an invaluable resource for fans of the Western Design movement.

From the Inside Flap
Molesworth: Pioneer of Western Design is the quintessential monograph of the legendary Thomas Molesworth, his life and work. As the first thoroughly detailed and complete guide, it explores Molesworth’s journey to becoming one of the leading western furniture designers. Molesworth’s innovative designs-his sense of balance, simplicity, and artfulness-are visible in all of his efforts. In addition to furniture, he designed lighting, floor treatments, and art to complete his concept of a true western space. Molesworth also used silhouettes, bright colors, and incorporated Native American artifacts and motifs to personalize his work. Found in hotels and other public buildings, ranches, and homes, Molesworth’s quality craftsmanship and superior use of materials are immediately recognizable. While his high-style work centers around practical rustic furniture pieces, at the heart of his work the romantic and enduring spirit of the West is manifest and experienced. A guide for Thomas Molesworth devotees as well as aficionados of western design, this definitive volume details Molesworth’s education, the early years of his career, and the founding and establishment of his Shoshone Furniture Company. Molesworth was incredibly successful at producing world-class furniture and developing lucrative marketing strategies from coast-to-coast. His influence on his hometown of Cody, Wyoming, and the colony of artists he inspired is immeasurable. With a career spanning over thirty years, his influence is profound and sweeping. Indeed, that influence extends into today where a new generation of artists and collectors are dazzled and inspired by Molesworth’s legacy. Flip through the pages of this book to rediscover your love affair with the West and learn more about this visionary designer, craftsman, and western dreamer. back flap Terry Winchell has dealt antiques for nearly two and a half decades as owner of Fighting Bear Antiques in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He is a recognized authority on rustic and Thomas Molesworth furniture. He has performed museum appraisals for the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming, and consulted for the John Toomey Gallery in Chicago and Christie’s in New York. Winchell has been published in Architectural Digest, Art & Antiques, and Cowboys & Indians and has been featured on Home & Garden television, the BBC, and Antiques Roadshow. Most recently, Winchell was a featured speaker at the 3rd Annual Arts and Crafts Weekend Conference and Show in Anaheim, California. He has a degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska. W. Discount Furniture Store in the Philippines

Discount Furniture Store in the Philippines

Turning your house into a dream home doesn’t have to be mission impossible. It doesn’t have to empty your wallet or max out your credit card limit. The choices should not be limited to few mainstream furniture stores in the Philippines.

Today, extremely affordable furniture can be had via alternative furniture store like say, ahem, House of Leoque. A discount furniture or affordable furniture store like Leoque doesn’t mean it is offering sub standard furniture, hastily made furniture, etc.

In fact, as a furniture store in the Philippines, Leoque has been supplying hundreds & hundreds of furniture pieces/units, some of which are being shipped/cargoed across the Philippines, in different cities/provinces. We’ve supplied hotels, condos, single detached housing units, bargain furniture hunters, interior designers, contractors, wholesale furniture orders, etc…. a testament to the quality of Philippine furniture we supply.

Why an online furniture store like LEOQUE is able to price their furniture low and yet offer great furniture collection?

It is possible that operational costs are cut, thus, these cuts are being passed on to the clients & buyers. Savings could possibly come from renting a smaller showroom (not renting at SM Malls, Ayala Malls, etc.), great inventory system & logistics, outsourcing other works/jobs/specializations, employing compact but skilled pack of designers, craftsmen & wood workers in the pool, utilizing the power of the internet as marketing vehicle, great sourcing of raw materials, maximizing the workforce output, efficient management, etc. All these are factors why affordable & good-quality products are laid on the table, so to speak.

There is a demand for discount furniture & sale furniture, and Leoque should be able to cater to this demand. The hunt is on for great & affordable furniture pieces. And with the fact that online furniture discount stores are plentiful in  the Philippines, we’re positive, you’ll be able to get your furniture requirements in no time. By the way, In your search for Philippine furniture online store, I sure hope you find Leoque Furniture. :-)

Philippines: ALL ABOUT CONDOS

Nowadays, it is common to hear the word condo. The word ‘condominium’ has Latin roots - con, which means together, and dominium, which means property. According to Wikipedia, condos usually consist of a large complex whose individual units are sold. It can be an apartment, house, townhouse, or a unit in an apartment house in which the units are individually sold. The owner of each individual unit technically owns everything from their walls inward and all of the individual unit owners share rights to the common areas like the elevators, hallways, pools, and other facilities.

Living in a makati condo is not the same as living in a townhouse, apartment, or a single house. The dual nature of a condo in Philippines or anywhere else makes it different from other dwelling units. Aside from holding title to their units, condominium owners also share responsibility for the operating costs of the common areas of the condominium. All condominium owners agree by a set of Rules and Regulations particularly made for their condominium.

However, it may still be a good idea to look for a condo for sale Philippines because owning and living in a condominium may still be less expensive than other types of home ownership especially when you consider the amenities and facilities that come with it. On the other hand, condominium corporations may set restrictions on such things as owning pets, or having an outdoor barbeque. Conduct in the common areas can be strictly regulated through the condo board amending, changing and/or redrafting the Rules and Regulations. Most of the time, the monthly maintenance fee is charged. This covers water, a portion for maintaining and up keeping the building and grounds, and building insurance. Because of these additional responsibilities, it is important to carefully read everything if you are planning to buy a condominium.

There is a growing trend towards owning and living in a condo. This is particularly popular among single parent families and single young professionals because living in a condo eliminates the worry of lawn mowing, maintaining plants, yard maintenance, maintenance of the exterior of a house like paint, roof, and many more.
