Condominium Furniture Store Philippines

We can say, more than 50% of our Leoque furniture end up in Philippine condominium units. More than any other market, we would really want to be one of the best stores that serve the condominium furniture in the Philippines. Some of the items we have like side tables, center tables, storage furniture and most especially 2-seater, 3 seater dining tables are geared towards condominium interiors. We try to put balance in the furniture we offer. Meaning, while we know that space is premium in condo living thus we watch the size of the furniture, we still make sure that these “mini” furniture will still be functional & really be appealing still.

Palayok

palayok palayok-1 palayok-2

A palayok is a clay pot used as the traditional food preparation container in the Philippines. Palayok is a Tagalog word; in other parts of the country, especially in the Visayas, it is called a kulon; smaller-sized pots are referred to as anglit.

The palayok is made of earthenware, a porous ceramic material. This allows steam from cooking to evaporate out of the pores in the earthenware. Juices from the cooking food would not begin to burn until all the water has evaporated, after which the food is thoroughly cooked. Since ceramic does not transfer heat as much as metal, cooking in a palayok entails a longer time and a higher temperature that would normally be using metal cookware.

The palayok should not be cleaned using household detergents, as the porous material would easily imbibe chemicals in the detergent that would later impart unwanted flavors in the food during cooking. It is instead cleaned by soaking in warm water and when the detritus has sufficiently softened, by scrubbing with salt.

Wood Bowls as Planters

wooden-bowls-planters

Here’s a sample of the wooden bowls used as a planters. With enough depth & diameter, our wood bowls are able to accomodate relatively bigger pots/plants. Thus, these can be used as garden bowl planters, giving bare plants some decorative flair & highlight.

WHAT IS SUNGKA

It is a game of skill in calculation played on a block of wood or game-board called sungkahan. The game-board is shaped like a boat with the surface artfully rounded at the ends. The surface of sungkahan is hollowed at regular intervals with sixteen circular holes, with one large hole at the end of each side, called mother or ulo (head). The fourteen small holes are called bahays (houses) with a capacity of a handful of tokens. They are hollowed out alongside at equal distances, seven holes at each row. Shells, pebbles, or seeds are used as tokens. The game revolves around the contest between two people each aiming to outdo the other by trying to accumulate as many tokens as he can into the mother hole according to certain rules of distributions and moves.
