Buyer's Show: Wall-Mounted Display Shelves, On Display

3-footer no-bracket wood planks

The buyer intelligently squeezed in 6 pieces of the 3-ft wooden rack. We’re told, this side of the wall used to be bare and the columns popping out there. Look at it now, it’s alive! Alive!

alluring "lia"

Same side of the room, same wall, facing the dining set… our buyer mounted the lia 5-footer shelf with built-in brackets and partnered it with an old mirror they already have. Not shown in the pic is the TRIFECTA dining chairs and hardwood daybed also included in the furniture purchase. To our kind buyer, nice home you have there and thank you very much for the furniture order and for these (cell)pics. BTW, this is a sort of celebrity buy, buyer’s son is a celeb.

Eco-friendly Residence in HK, "The Domestic Transformer"

In Hong Kong, because of the space, apartments are small and expensive. Gary Chang, an architect, decided to design a 344 sq. ft. apartment to be able to change into 24 different designs, all by just sliding panels and walls. He calls this the “Domestic Transformer.”

Book: Raw- Design By Nature By Frances Briggs

Raw: Design by Nature - Frances-Briggs

RAW: Design by Nature is by Frances Briggs with photography by Frances Janisch, Peter Baasch & Daron Chatz. First published in 2000 but more than ever, this book hits what I think is the style that I want in case I win the lotto and build a minimum 2k sqm countryside house. Back to basics style that is simple & sensual.

With vibrant earth tones, tribal fabrics here and there, rough outdoor flooring and with dashes furniture made of sleek stainless steel or metal with automotive paint finishes, etc. Ingredients of natural decorating that this book calls… RAW.

From the book… “The living space is a sanctuary, and Frances Briggs details the interior design elements that pull us toward nature and give us refuge from our fast-paced lives. Rich color photos show how working with the key elements — plaster, masonry, wood, metal, ceramics, textiles and fibers — can enhance the feel of every room in the house and create luxurious accents we can change on a whim.”

The book is great interior decorating guide as great photos show how all these natural materials are harmoniously blended for a modern look and life.

Samples:

  • Plaster walls+ limestone floor
  • Rustic wooden cabinet + stainless racks & hooks
  • Wrought iron + silk fabric
  • Wood stand + granite/slate table top
  • Distressed wood wall panels + immaculate white accent chair
  • Red Barcelona chair + bleached wood floor
  • Native basket lamp + metal wavy stand
  • Massive 4-poster wood bed + white cotton drapes
  • Limewashed cabinetry + high-end stainless stove unit
  • Textured country-style wall + metal decorative wall hung
  • Modern white tiles in the bathroom + rugged reclaimed hardwood platform
  • White sandstone flooring + native grass mat
  • Smooth shiny pebbles + dark wood bowls
  • Paled-colored cushion on dark wicker chair + raffia throw pillows

Like what we did with the Cezanne’s Garden book, we have our own raw materials and photographed the materials over the “Raw” book. I don’t know why we keep on doing this photo-ing the-photobook-routine, but we’re addicted to it. With no further ado…

fiber: all purpose fiber rope

wood: wood blocks, a component of our soon to be made wooden clock

wood: wood blocks, a component of our soon to be made wooden clock

ceramics: sobrang tiles pang-terrace

textile: ang batik ni lola

metal: stainless steel, soon to be lamp stand on our veneer wood lamp

*Left out are the plaster & masonry photos. We’ll update and post the pics as soon as we get a hold of these objects.

    Lucky metal circular accent

Dunno much about astrology and feng shui but I can feel this accent, there a certain vibe on this one. This is a lucky charm accent. I think.
Besides, having been able to push the price so low, we’re already lucky. Did you know that during discussion with the fabricator, we drew the draft of this accent on the back of cigarette packing? And, eventually we made it. OMG! This is destiny. It was destined to be made.
