Not a post about the city of the Chinese southern province of Guangdong. Not a post about the city up north of Hongkong (usually, Hongkong tour packages include side trips to the city of Shenzhen).
We have here 20 photos of faces & masks, all home decors. Shot in a span of an hour and half on a rainy Saturday morning. We’ll just post one photo every Monday of the coming weeks, to welcome each week with face-themed posts. Post 3 of 20.
This wooden dragon is not a member of the Autobots nor the Decepticons. It’s actually a dragon akin to this one. As far as the shot is concerned, the spot light placed at the back of the dragon forms a robotic – transformer – like image.
Finally, the photobook titled “Leoque Collection” has arrived. Digiprint said 2 to 3 weeks after client’s approval of the layout, we’ll get the photobook but we got it much much later than promised. We ordered this photobook for our own collection and copy, a coffee table book for our own living room. The same 100 select photos were printed and filed in this album, for our clients browsing.
Tired of looking for the TV remote? Have you ever spent an hour looking for the DVD remote controller? Still finding where to put your extra game console controllers? Would you like to have a place of your “this-weeks-must-see-DVD-movies” collection? Geeesh, even the aircon remote controller always ends up underneath the bed or the couch! Always on the look-out for that elusive cable TV printed schedule?
Friends, this is the handy solution for you.
A unique, one of a kind wooden remote control homebase. This remote control caddy can take not 5, not 6, not 8 remote controllers. This can take 10 or more remote controllers. So, if you happen to have a remote controller for your gate, or for your dog, this tray will take ‘em all.
Say goodbye to stray remote controls. You’ll know where to find them.
If you call now, we’ll even include the defective remote control we used for the pictorial!
And AS SEEN ON TV, one man even used this as his lifting weights for his “Perfect Abs in 10 Minutes A Day, With This Wooden Tray” Video! Amazing.
But wait, there’s more… this off-shaped wooden tray off some tree roots looks good even without the remote controls. The texture, wood pattern, the flowing lines, all add up to make one interesting visual accent.
The “GIRO” solid wooden stool used as side pedestal. Two stool stacked one over the other forms a spiral - twisting design. Actually, just one piece and it’s set to go as a pedestal or a riser, where, you can put stuff on top. Like phones, picture frames, a telephone maybe, figures, lamps, etc.

This maskara is from Bacolod City’s MASSKARA Festival. Held every October, a celebration which has earned for Bacolod, the title of “CITY OF SMILE.”
The word MASSKARA came from two words “MASS” which means many and the spanish word “KARA” meaning face. Thus “masskara” means a multitude of smiling faces.

A bunch of buri leaves and buri gelatin artificial ornaments were blown by the wind and it landed in our shop. I figure that’s a sign. It’s a sign that I should get my butt off the chair, get up & take another photo set of the tall glass vase we have. And so I did. Out of 5 photos, I am posting herewith the better twos.
This is an indoor low bench shot outdoors. The acacia wood slab is anchored on top of solid hardwood yakal post/ Seen in the background is a Narra tree. Take a look at the “JAPOST BENCH” here.

Used as side pedestals for the bold red sofa. Also, this is effect, is a boundary defining accent. Because, to the left of the pedestal is the dining area (not shown).
It’s been a frenetic posting here at the House of Leoque this October so it’s now time to pause for a moment and enjoy one song from The King, Elvis Presley.
Song embedded is titled LOVE Letters…
Big long by-the-way below…
My friend gave me a CD collection of Elvis Presley songs, all are in it, the young rockin’ Elvis, the RnB Elvis, country Elvis and even the gospel singing Elvis.
Being a solid Beatles fan for 15 years (that’s why in some of the Leoque furniture photos, you’ll see the Beatles images/pictures/frames/magazines here, there & everywhere), I can say that I’ve under appreciated Elvis Presley’ music & style. When in fact, pretty clear from the get-go of Beatles career, they are all Elvis wannabes.
No wonder, as I listen to this Elvis CD, I hear a lot of Paul Mc Cartney & John Lennon music & style. Elvis music is really something but because his genre is as broad as Elvis’ suit collar, there are a lot of songs that really don’t suit my taste. I sometime skip one or two Elvis songs. I can’t say that to Beatles. I can’t give you 5 bad Beatles songs.
But still, from now on, Elvis and his music, welcome to my building.
Talking about the King, we have a white & a black Elvis Presley figures, a display that’s not as awesome as Elvis’ music but worth collecting.
And, what a coincidence?! That song LOVE Letters?, we happen to have LOVE Letters too that you can furnish your home with: First is the resin LOVE Letters and second, the pop-cool shelving solution, LOVE Letters shelves.
This is one good read. Some DIY Frames you can try & do. Bought this on sale for P200 at booksale kiosk.
From the book…
Country Living - Handmade Frames
An arrangement of beautifully framed pictures adds warmth and personality to a room. Framed images can bring character to a forgotten corner, provide a focal point in a plain room, or simply accent the furnishings. Just about anything can be framed effectively - family photographs and memorabilia, evocative postcards, treasured letters, antique lace, pressed flowers. The skill is in pairing the subject with the right frame and mat. Handmade frames explains how to select art of framing, how to to choose a mat and frame, and how to arrange framed artwork decoratively.
Handmade frames explains the principles of framing and provides step-by-step instructions for personalizing store-bought frames using a number of easy techniques, such as decoupage and burnishings, and for making unique frames out of paper and found objects.
Introduction
Putting a frame around a picture or an object lends it a certain presence. We are all familiar with the way that ornate frames in museums and galleries add to the power of a work of art. Once singled out and paired with the right frame and mat, even the humblest subject a pressed flower, an old ticket stub, a leaf, can take on a new beauty, while the most sentimental - an old family letter, a time-worn woolen childs mitten - is preserved and kept on display.
Just as the right frame can transform a subject, so a beautifully framed picture can transform a room. A single well framed image, or a grouping of several, is one of the easiest and quickest ways to improve the look and feel of any space, creating interest or character where perhaps there was none, highlighting an architectural feature, or even making a room feel larger or smaller.
Making the match between image, mat, and frame - indeed, selecting the image in the first place is one of the creative joys of framing. In the best examples, of course, there is a harmony not only between the subject and the way in which it is framed but also where and how the picture is hung. Today, there is not a single predominant style of framing our choice of frames is as diverse as the subjects we select. This book is about finding your style or styles and discovering the pleasure in using frames decoratively throughout the house.
